Jônatas Soares started his career at the ballet at the age of 8, after being discovered dancing at a church. Now, as a sixteen-year-old, he is packing for a three year trainee program at the Dutch National Ballet. A feat achieved after being among the finalists of the Prix de Lausanne.
He is one among several students of the "Dançar a vida" social program, that offers ballet lessons for boys and girls whose families could never afford the costs of a dance school.
Last August, I had the privilege to photograph Jônatas for Rotary Brasil. His amazing story will be on the October issue of the magazine.
